For as long as I can remember, sports and fitness have been an integral part of my life. Growing up, my parents were big believers and supporters of organized sports. When I was 5 and old enough to start playing sports, they signed me up for everything---baseball, swimming, basketball and soccer. As years passed, my passion and focus stayed with soccer.
At a young age I was competing on select teams in Florida, won various All-City, All-Region and All-State honors. Eventually, I received a soccer scholarship to attend Queens University in Charlotte, NC. It was here that my love and passion for soccer and fitness grew to another level.
Thru my tenure at Queens I would continue to garnish awards and accolades like Conference Player of the Year and All-American honors. I learned the importance of balancing mind/body/spirit in order to create a strong foundation of well-being and performance. This understanding would prove to be a springboard into my life as a personal trainer, fitness instructor and now, CEO of a residential health club management company in the New York City area.
Over the past 18 years, I have dedicated my time and energy to building on that foundation. I’ve received certifications from American Council on Exercise (ACE), The National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS), Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) and became a Water Safety Instructor and certified Pool Operator. I have managed health clubs in Florida and New York - clubs from 10,000 square feet to over 100,000 square feet with a staff as small as 2 and as large as 75+ employees. I’ve instructed workshops and training seminars on meeting health and fitness goals and, most recently, I’ve focused my energy on developing fitness and health integration programs for all ages with NYC residential buildings. I truly believe it is not too late, or too early, to make a change and find that balance. That is the mission of Maxime Fitness.
